Veterinarian

Dr. Thomas is the founder and primary veterinarian of CHVC. He graduated from Assam Agricultural University in India and has been practicing since 2003. He has spent many years working for rescue organizations in Philadelphia helping to spay and neuter hundreds of animals. He is very happy to realize his dream of having a practice with a good foundation of client education and quality pet care. Establishing a clientele that knows their pets will be treated like family by the staff of CHVC is an important aspect of his values. Dr. Thomas is a firm believer that an educated pet owner is the best pet owner!

Office Manager/Certified Veterinary Technician 

Mary is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has been in the veterinary field for the past twelve years. She is very excited to be a member of the Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital medical team. She has two cats at home Riku (Left) and Samanosuke (Right - Sammie for short). In her time away from the clinic, she is a talented dancer for a dance company and dance competition team.

Veterinary Technician

April has been in the veterinary field for about six years starting kennel work at the Conchester Animal Hospital. In 2010 she developed a strong passion for shelter medicine with her experience at ACCT Philly, where she also met Dr. Thomas. Over the past few years April has worked at The Pet Mechanic/Operation Ava no-kill rescue, and the PSPCA. She started part time with Dr. Thomas in Dec. 2014, and has recently joined the practice full time as an assistant manager. She will be starting school in Jan. 2016 to take prerequisites for Vet School. April is a huge advocate for rescue and adoption. She has 4 rescued pitbull mixes and 2 cats at home.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Nicole has been a part of the Caring Hands team since December 2014. She is currently taking classes through the Penn Foster program and is working towards her goal of becoming a certified vet tech. Her love of animals started at a young age. She has a dog at home named Wyatt. 

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Acelyn is currently attending Manor Junior College while pursuing her passion of becoming a Certified Vet Tech with a specializing certification.  She has been working in the veterinary field for the past 6 years. Acelyn has one black cat at home named Uno, who she happened to rescue off the street on Halloween.

Veterinary Technician Assistant

Nina has been in the animal welfare field for 5 years starting as an adoptions counselor at Animal Control. After working as a counselor for almost a year she joined the Medical Clinic at Animal Control from 2011-2013. Feeling like she needed to expand and gain more knowledge she was hired at the PSPCA in 2013, and is now the PM Lead Nurse where she works alongside other nurses and Veterinarians caring for animals through Humane Law Enforcement.  She started working with us part time in August 2015 where she is gaining knowledge in private practice and different types of surgeries. Nina is very compassionate for abused and homeless animals. She has fostered many cats and dogs throughout the last 5 years and currently has one rescued Pitbull at home that she spoils.

Receptionist

Katie is the first person you might see when you come into Caring Hands. She started as our receptionist in August 2015. She is excited to learn more about animal medicine and further her career in private practice. She has a cat named Judie and a dog named Scotty at home.
